Thursday 15th October saw the 3rd annual Dorset Tourism Awards ceremony take place at Bovington Tank Museum.
Lyme Bay RIB Charter entered in the Best Tourism Activity, Experience, Sport category once again and was placed as a finalist against stiff national competition from The National Trust and Go-Ape!
Having taken 2 Gold awards in the 2014 DTA’s, just making it to the finals in 2015 was an excellent achievement in itself, to then go on and re gain the award for a second year was an amazing effort…
Skipper and owner at LBRC Simon Miles said:
‘We are very proud of winning this award, especially for the 2nd year running! we didn’t expect that at all… The whole team has worked particularly hard this summer and I am very proud of them all; it’s great to see that our standards haven’t dropped.
We’re also very pleased that Dorset, and particularly WEST Dorset is being recognised nationally as a top holiday area now. This can only be a good thing for everyone’
Entries in this years awards had grown by 10% and the number of awards handed out on the night had risen to 51!
West Dorset companies featured highly and won well this year with other golds being taken by Aroma Café in Lyme Regis, West Dorset Leisure Holidays in Eype and The Symondsbury Estate in Bridport as well as a Silver award to Fernhill Hotel in Charmouth.
LBRC will now be fast-tracked in to the regional South West Tourism Awards in February (where they took Silver in 2014) with a possible chance to represent Nationally in the Visit England awards…
Fingers crossed…
